The John Barleycorn Society

"Dedicated to the hedonistic pursuit of intoxicating knowledge.
- Chris Corley

The John Barleycorn Society was a group of young like-minded rabble rousers and knowledge seekers that i assembled in the late 1900s. We held monthly tastings of all manner of libations and elixirs, with a bent towards great wines. The motivation was simple and consistent ... we were dedicated to the hedonistic pursuit of intoxicating knowledge. I'm resurrecting this in the form of a wine club, and invite you to join me in this continued and lifelong pursuit.

- Chris Corley

"I would rather be ashes than dust. I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by a dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in a magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.
I shall use my time.
"
